Diane Porter | Scentsability Nose Work Training | Certified Nose Work Instructor

Diane has been a lifetime dog lover and has had many breeds of dogs. She first became interested in showing in the conformation and obedience rings in 1985. Then in 1999 she was introduced to agility and her life has never been the same. She got several Master of Agility titles in Standard and Jumpers (MX and MXJs) with earlier dogs and then Mally, a border collie and Josie, a golden retriever both received their Championship in agility (MACH titles) a year apart. Josie now has her MACH2 title. Diane first became interested in Nose Work (NW) when a friend showed her an article about it in the Whole Dog Journal in 2009. She took her first Introduction to Nose Work seminar with Ron Gaunt and Desiree Snelleman in January 2010. She became a Certified Nose Work Instructor in June 2011.

Sheʼs been doing NW with three of her dogs. Mally was in the first NW trial in the Pacific Northwest. He received his NW1 title at that trial along with the coveted “Harry” award for the outstanding rescue dog demonstrating extraordinary ability and spirit in Nose Work. In February 2013 I entered Mally in his NW3. "I told Mally this was going to be his retirement trial". He could not keep up the pace in his outside search due to his failing legs. He not only won his NW3 title but got his NW3-I (Interior) title and his NW3-V (vehicle) title and 2nd place overall! Josie is currently pursuing her NW3 title and will compete in November for it. Cinnamon, a year and a half old golden retriever *puppy* has gotten her ORT for Birch, Anise and Cloves on her first try and will be via for her NW1 title this fall.
